The Issues

Spay/Neuter

In the U.S alone, an estimated 4 million cats and dogs are killed each year.* (HSUS) Roughly half of the sweet, innocent animals brought to shelters every year are killed. Imagine, having a 50/50 chance of living or dying. These animals are often sensitive, kind, loving beings that simply want to be loved back. They depend on us to keep them out of harms way and instead, many end up meeting a lonely fate.

Many animals are euthanized, humanely put to sleep by lethal injection. Others however, may suffer slowly in gas chambers or suffer lengthy torture at the hands of a human. Many others will die of starvation or untreated illness because they are feral, and have no one to look after them.

It is everyone’s responsibility to be guardians for all animals. We need to take initiative and decrease the pet population by spaying and neutering our animals. Many animals in shelters are put to death because there simply is not enough room in the shelters. It is an unfair and disrespectful end to a life. Cold Noses Foundation supports spay and neuter initiatives to keep pets off the streets and get them into homes. We, as humans, can no longer accept the fact that animals are dying all over the world at our hands because we do not keep the animal population in check.

Dogs and cats are getting gassed to death. This despicable practice is still used today, in a society that we call civilized. The truth is, most people are not aware that this practice still exists.

Low/No Cost Veterinary Care

The rising cost of veterinary care, and the poor economic situation in the U.S.A and it’s territories is a true dilemma. Pets are not getting the care they require because people cannot afford to care for their best friends. 53% of pet owners in the U.S feel that the costs of veterinary care are usually much higher than they expect.*(AVMA) Cold Noses supports the work of organizations that deliver a less expensive option for pet health care. With the help of Cold Noses Foundation, these organizations will work to create a world where no family should have to forfeit their pet because of medical care. See our resources page for low/no cost veterinary programs around the globe.

Educational programs

Educate, Educate, Educate.

With education, comes better choices.

Education has to reach all people, from all walks of life. Without being aware of the problem, people will not see the need for change. Right now as you’re reading this, an animal is suffering at the hands of a human. Education is the best prevention. People need the proper tools to make good decisions, and knowledge is one of those tools. Teaching children and adults alike the importance of spaying and neutering, along with educating people on humane pet care, we will create a knowledgeable and aware society, instead of one where people look the other way.

Cold Noses Foundation will work to educate and provide resources for people all around the globe. Whether it is a sponsored school program, or an informative video presented in multiple languages, we will help spread the word about homeless animals. Shelters/Rescues Need Our Help!

Around the globe shelter and rescue workers work long, difficult hours every day to find homes and safety for animals. Most shelters are small, start-up groups that are based on one principal: save as many animals as possible. Their time is taken providing shelter for these animals, and they do not have the time to fundraise. This is where Cold Noses Foundation comes in. We are exclusively a fundraising and educating foundation. We concentrate on raising awareness to the issues and obtaining the much needed funds to increase the quality of life for all homeless animals. These funds are distributed to various shelters and rescues around the globe to assist them in caring for the animals. Check out our resources page to see some examples of shelters and rescues doing excellent work in their communities.
